Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the size and shape of a woman’s breast using silicone gel implants.
The breast implant is placed behind the pectoral muscle. Normally, the surgical incision to implant the prosthesis is located in the submammary groove or in the areola.
The choice of the shape and size of the implant as well as a thorough technique is essential for the recovery and final result.
